Teddy Bear Picnic

Thursday, August 20, 2009

I've been so busy working this week, there was no way I'd be able to pull off a Tea Time Thursday. So, instead, I decided on a Teddy Bear Picnic. Inspired by a Muffin Tin Swap package that I got from my swap partner, Monica. This was an easy and quick lunch that was still special and out of the ordinary. Plus, it was a great way to get my hermit son out of the house to enjoy the nice day.

I just took the ordinary lunch that my daughter requested (Mac & Cheese) and put it into the cute teddy bear muffin tins. They also had some string cheese and grapes and I put them all onto a colorful plate.

They both chose a teddy bear to share the lunch with (or in my son's case, a tiger since he doesn't have a teddy bear and tigers eat meat like bears do :)).

It was easy - and a huge hit with both kids. I'm sad that summer is quickly coming to an end. Lunch time with both kids will be a thing of the past and I'll only be making them for Lyssie. I'll have to be sure that we do special lunches on the weekend as I know my son will miss being a part of Muffin Tin Mondays.
