It's all in the details

No secret - I've been preparing for the big Mill Creek show this weekend. This means that I've been a sewing mad-woman (literally at times). I've been concentrating a lot on my recycled tshirt dresses from my NueToMe site. Not only do I need to make enough for the Mill Creek show, but I also have several wholesale accounts interested.
What I love about my NueToMe line is that I use all recycled materials. Mostly tshirts - and I use nearly every last piece. It makes me happy. It's also nice that my son recognizes the need for recycling more...and when he sees me doing it, he tells me he's proud of me. I'm not sure there's a better feeling than having your own child proud of something you are doing... especially something that has so much meaning.
With all these new dresses, I need tags. And for me, it's all in the details. This is a line of clothing using recycled materials... and I think even the tags need to be just as eco friendly. So... I make my own. I use paper that is otherwise garbage (just a few lines printed on it) and I use cereal boxes. Granted... this takes longer. But it's fun and I feel like it gives my items more meaning.
So, this is what I've been working on this morning. I'm still sewing of course... but I have a fairly short attention span at times - do having multiple projects in the works is the best way for me to work.
I'll be picking up my parents from the airport today. They are coming into town to help us out during the show (and of course, to spend lots of time with their grandchildren).
