Family Tree

When I "clean" house, I tend to get distracted. It was no different yesterday. I have been trying to clear surfaces to make room for Christmas decorations. It really is my Mission Impossible as the surface quickly gets re-cluttered.

So yesterday, I was distracted by a large standing frame that was holding a drawing of a Woolly Mammoth that my son drew ages ago. It was time to replace it. But I still wanted to maintain a Christmas color theme in the room... so I came up with a family tree.

We have a lot of family coming this Christmas and I thought it would be perfect. Plus, it was crafty, fun and it kept me from my housework. I like how it came out. I used scrapbook paper for all of it as that was the closest thing to me. I tore the paper for the tree, then cut out leaves.. writing the names of our more immediate family. This tree could have been huge had I gone back one more generation - but I knew I didn't have the time or space.

Still, a great looking addition to our holiday decor.
