A Month of Thanks

Sunday, November 9, 2008

I love my son. He came home other day with two cards in his bag. One of them was for both me and my husband and the other one (pictured) was just for me. It's amazing a handmade card from your child is truly one of the best things ever. Especially if it's a surprise. Certainly I receive my share of drawings that have been done at the kitchen table... but this was one of the first that was done while he was away from me. It's nice to know he thinks about me while he's at school... especially since I'm sure it's only a matter of time before that all changes.

The card says "Thank you mom" on the front, "I love (with a heart) you" on the inside and "Frum Robbie" on the back. I know, I should tell him how you spell from... but I figure that's his teacher's job... I'm enjoying it's cuteness.
So, I thought it appropriate to post a picture of this card since Thanksgiving is a month where we focus on our thankfulness... and I am truly thankful for having such a thoughtful kid. I know, I'm sure his teacher coached him... but don't ruin my moment.

Some of my favorite treasures are my handmade cards and ornaments done by son when he was in school. He has now given me grandchildren and I still hang those little things on the tree.
