A great Halloween

Saturday, November 1, 2008

We are exhausted! But what a day we had yesterday! The kids were wiped out by the time we got home. We went to Robbie's school for their Halloween party - there was a DJ and the kids had a great time dancing. Lyssie loves loud music and a dance floor - "I jake my boodie" she says. She's the center of attention every time! Robbie loved dancing too... but I think he was busier scoping out the room for his friends. Aw... I remember those days!

We followed Clifford out of the party and into the school's book fair. It was perfect and Kasey bought each of his kids a book. It was also the perfect way to leave the party and to move on to trick-or-treating.

We took the kids to the mall - with the forecast of rain, the cool temperature and our given neighborhood... it seemed like the way to go. Apparently everyone else in Everett felt the same way. The place was packed! It made me a bit sad. I have the greatest memories of trick-or-treating in our neighborhood... going door to door, blocks and blocks away, pillow cases full... seeing friends as we made it from one known neighbor to the next. Our kids won't have these memories. But I have to remember, that just because their memories won't be like mine doesn't mean that they won't have their own fond memories of childhood, they'll just have ones different from mine.

We finished the night off with a not so peaceful dinner out (the kids were VERY tired).

So, here are a few pictures from our Halloween... enjoy!

For those unfamiliar with Mario Cart (or any other Mario game), I'll help you identify these costumed kids... Lyssie was Princess Peach and Robbie was Diddy Kong.

Before leaving for the party. They couldn't really wear their costumes in their car seats... they are supposed to be posing with their carved jack-o-lanterns, but as you could see they were more intrigued with the ones that could hold candy. I wish I had thought about making them into the shells that the characters throw in the game - that would have been awesome!

The little puppy was the cutest EVER! I am fairly certain he was even smaller than Lyssie when she first started walking. This puppy was drawn to Peach - he must love blonds!
