Muffin Tin Monday - Under the Sea
Monday, April 27, 2009
I cheated a bit this week - we did our muffin tin yesterday. With the change in my husband's work schedule... I'm going to be shifting our schedule at home to make it a little easier on myself. Having Muffin Tin Monday done and out of the way is my first change.
This week's theme was Under the Sea. This was a great theme for us as my kids LOVE seafood. I also let them eat it outside as it was actually decent and I'm not sure how often they'll get that chance! Also - changing environments seems to help all of us.
Contents: Goldfish crackers, Crab and Shrimp sushi from Central Market, Imitation crab, shrimp, shrimp chips and Nori Maki crackers (I mistakenly purchased the wasabi one... so these didn't go over well - but both kids tried it. I agree, wasabi ones are not as good but it still counted as sea weed).

Lyssie is sick today with a cold and a horrible cough. I'm washing my hands a lot in the hopes that I don't catch it too. Getting sick on top of everything else going on is not my idea of fun.

Great muffin tin. You're kids are sure adventurous eaters. Nice they could sit outside to enjoy their tins.

I agree they are adventurous! Great tin Kayce and the link appears to be fixed!
Looks so yummy!
My son is the adventurous one - my daughter isn't so much but will sometimes try to be like her big brother. My son loves seafood - calamari and shrimp being his favorites. So sushi is high on his list as well. It was much easier to expose a single child to new foods than a second as I find that the first child always passes their opinion of the food on to the other. But I keep putting it in front of her - someday she'll give it a try.
This time, she gave her shrimp and sushi to her brother in trade for his goldfish crackers.
My kiddos trade food all the time! Great tin!
My kids LOVE sushi. In all forms. Neither are fond of the ginger or wasabi though. I love how your kids tried everything. :) Great tin!
