Scrapdown Bag

Thursday, March 26, 2009

I was originally going to do a tutorial for this bag - but I haven't been able to find the time. Sorry. It is fairly simple though and it pretty much follows the same concept as this bag (which Katy just turned me on to and I have to try)

My intention was to make a lunch bag for Lyssie's Bento Box lunch for when she goes into the office with her dad. I haven't tried it yet, so I'm not sure if I made it too big ( I guess it would help to have a specific size in mind when you start a project... I just let the scrap pieces dictate it's size - I think it comes down to laziness).

These scrap fabric projects have been a lot of fun. They remind me of previous projects. The purse above has the butterfly fabric that I used to make the quilt we brought Lyssie home in. And the green fabric next to it was used to make a quilt for my cousin's first born.

I still intend on making another bag or two for the Scrapdown bag challenge as I'm not 100% pleased with this one.

awww, it's soo beautiful. I've been wondering when you were going to reveal it!!! Still seems more complicated than any of the links I found. I should really take a basic sewing class. Thanks for your continued participation and enthusiasm, Kayce. I seriously don't know how you do it all. That would be a great topic for your next post.
