Work In Progess Wednesday

I don't remember the blog that I found this (I really need to write these things down so that I can share all the great blogs that I come across while procrastinating) - but I thought it was great to show projects that I am currently working on. Of course, I have the quilt and I'm always making things for the shops... but I do other projects as well.
I've been wanting to try to make a pair of fingerless gloves for myself. I have a hard time spending the money on myself for something that is a want more than a need. I've searched online for a crochet pattern but seem to come across mostly patterns for knitting. Not to be discouraged, I decided I'd make it up myself. I'm very pleased with the progress. Since this photo was taken, I've completed the second one. My issue is that I can't seem to get them to match exactly. As I still consider myself new to crocheting, I sometimes don't realize that I'm altering a stitch - and when I go to duplicate the look... I can't. So, I have to two nearly matching fingerless gloves. I think I'm going to try to for two matching pairs now. I figure, if I make enough - at least one of them has to match, right?
Happy Birthday to my little girl who turned 3 today. I'll show pictures of the gift I made her hopefully tomorrow.
