Picnic indoors

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

I just went downstairs and this is what I saw. My daughter, completely passed out and next to her... a cute little picnic. She broke into the dress-up box today and rediscovered tons of new things. One was this set of color sorting items . I think they were bought through my son's fundraiser back when he was in preschool.

And this reminded me that I wanted to share the felt food that my mom made for Lyssie. It was one of her favorite gifts and she plays with it everyday (I've made her keep it all in her room though because I can only imagine all that "macka-only-cheese" everywhere in the house).

She's working on making more, but for Christmas she gave her tortillas, a pizza (minus the toppings - still working on those, but Lyssie uses her felt board pieces), lettuce, tomato, cheese & hamburger (minus the bun, those too are still coming, but Lyssie uses them for the tacos she makes with the tortillas) and then pasta including Macaroni and cheese, ravioli and bowties. Sooo cute! She loves them all.
In the picture, she's using the macaroni and cheese for the cheese in her quesadilla. They are so cute and she loves them! I hope that we can replace all of her plastic foods with felt. The plastic ones keep cracking and I'm afraid she's going to pinch her little fingers. Besides, the felt food is cuter!

I want some!! Now, I'm going to have to get my mom to make me some of these goodies. I sure wish I knew how to work a sewing machine!
