Just a general update

It's been a while since I've posted. I've been on "vacation" and I've had some problems with my camera (all are fixed now). So I thought I'd give an update on what I've been up to... I've been very busy!

For an Etsy update - I've temporarily closed all my shops. However, I just noticed that my World of Whimm shop is at 530 hearts! Holy Toledo Batman! Thank you to EVERYONE that continues to support this crazy love I have for fun and imaginative things. I can't wait to get some new items posted! Time frame for new items? After the Green Edmonds show on September 13th. I'll be showing my NueToMe line. Remember, I offer a $1 off discount if you bring me one of your old t-shirts. For more details, check here! Come out and visit us - I'll be sharing a large booth space with several other EtsyRAIN artisans.

On A Whimm - it's been a while since I've posted new items to this site - and I'm working on a store make over... but in the meantime, here is a sneak peak of some new tacks I've completed. I'm loving them and I hope others will too. I can't wait to get a bulletin board up so that I can use some of my own creations :)

As I always do when I visit my hometown of San Jose, California... I supply shop. And while I was in San Jose, I received a wholesale order - so I went to the place that we get most of our mermaid tail and crown fabric - Fabrics R Us. This place not only had bolts all over the place outside, but way more inside... and two to three more stores in the same shopping area! That's a lot of fabric! I was proud that I controlled myself and only purchased the fabric that I needed. However, I do have plans of sending my parents back to purchase some fabric that would make the best Wonder Woman costume ever! How cool would that be?

In addition to Fabrics R Us, we also visited one of our other fabric sources - but this one, a little more unique. We visited the house of a couple that "rescues" samples from showrooms and distributes them to people, schools, and anyone else that can make use of these wonderful fabrics that could have been landfill. I found some great fabrics and I can't wait to get home to make some great things for the On A Whimm site - so check back!

In addition, I also found a great deal on zippers! Of course, I still need a bit of practice sewing zippers... but these with some of the great fabrics I found from our rescue mission of showroom samples. Again, blogger has chosen to rotate the photo. Blogger - if you are reading - this is really annoying.

I am currently in Visalia where it is so warm that we've been sweating as we sit outside at midnight. It's hot enough that you don't need to know the temperature - really, what difference would it make? But we are having a great time at my husband's family reunion. Karaoke was tonight and if that's the precursor to the rest of the weekend, I'm sure to have a great time!

Looking forward to returning to cooler weather - we'll be making a B-Line for Washington on Monday. Wish us a painless and safe ride!
